A DAY AT A TIME — SMILE

Be calm and don’t panic. Think of gratitude. You are only comparing yourself from who you were yesterday to who you are today.

What you are feeling now might be hard and it is okay to feel that way. Stay with me here…

You have ideas of what your life could be and how things are not adding up for you to get there. Take a deep breath. Stay with me, you are where you deserve not where you desire, you are to be grateful and not dismayed. Where you are today is a goal for another. Let me tell you a quick story.

There is this man in my neighborhood nicknamed “Stone”. After engaging with him a few times he told me one day that his ultimate goal as of now is to be able to read before he dies. Now here I stood in shock, knowing I could read anything I wanted. He says he wishes to read for himself rather than rely on the understanding of what others are saying to him. This man has a family of 6.

Now back to us, I realized we only want to feel “happy” when we have been able to acquire the material things we wish for. Or the desired relationship. What if you only acquire them to know those are not what you wanted, would you keep trying to get yourself these things so you become happy when you get there? That’s “maybe happiness”, that’s uncertain. We don’t know for sure. What we know is now! We are here in whatever clothes we have with whatever people we are with. If you don’t like them, begin a day at a time with what you have.

Read something different to increase your knowledge. Speak differently from the heart to heal someone. Share a joke with yourself and laugh at life. It will get better only if you are happy with yourself in the present. Could things be any different? — yes, but they are not, you do not beat yourself down for what is out of your control currently. You remain grateful and keep it moving a day at a time. Remember not to compare life only to feel miserable for yourself. Be happy for those doing better than you, you only learn from those who have it more.

Today I write these words to share my beautiful life experiences of today, with the wisdom bestowed on me by God (maybe you believe differently and that’s okay). I am smiling, alive and well. When feeling sick, think of healing and good health, you will then take the necessary steps towards a good healthy life. When annoyed all the time, think peace more often and you will find within yourself the peace you never thought you had. This applies to finances as well, think value and growth and you will gradually find a skill which will fetch you little income at time.

Again, Don’t compare your life to others to feel sorry for yourself. Feel blessed and be grateful.

You will find light within and shine.
